Castor Oil: Aids in smoothness for the balm! Castor oil is a thick vegetable liquid extracted from castor seeds. It's rich in fatty acids, has the ability to draw moisture to the skin, generates the large bubbles in cold process soap & is good for superfatting. A great emollient that penetrates the skin easily, it is widely used in soaps and toiletries, including creams, lotions, lip balms, body butters & scrubs. Provides an especially nice glide to both lip products & massage oils. All Natural.
Almond Oil: Emollient! Sweet Almond oil is cold expeller pressed from the nut kernel of the sweet almond tree. It's softening abilities come from the essential fatty acids and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E. A great emollient that penetrates the skin easily, it is often used in bath & massage oils as well as soap, creams, lotions, lip balms, body butters and scrubs.
Lanolin:
What is lanolin and its uses?
An ideal moisture barrier with which to facilitate moist wound healing is lanolin, which has been used for over 8,000 years.
Directions for its use have appeared in medicinal and pharmaceutical texts for the past 2,000 years. Very protective~ Lanolin is produced from the sebaceous glands of sheep and protects the fleece gainst rain and other elements. It also provides a medium that allows moist wound healing to occur. Because it contains no water, it does not provide a medium in which bacteria can grow and is thereby a bacteriostatic medical grade lanolin.
Vegetable Glycerine: It is invaluable as a natural source ingredient with emollient like properties which can soften and soothe the skin and it assists the outer epidermis in retaining moisture! All vegetable! It is a humectant, thereby helping to pull moisture from the air to itself, and thus your skin! A favorite!
